Raymond Wheelock founded Wheelock & Sons Welding Shop in 1946. Nine miles west of Traverse City, he set up a tiny business where he began repairing various pieces of equipment that local farmers owned. Raymond took great satisfaction in his abilities to assist his neighbors and the caliber of his job.
In 1960, Addison, Raymond's son, and his spouse Bonny assumed ownership of the family firm. The community began to recognize the high caliber of their work, and demand for their services expanded swiftly. Wheelock & Sons Welding began as a tiny, one-room operation that Addison and Bonny expanded into a 10,000+ square foot repair and specialty fabrication factory.
