earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University in 1973 when he was 21 years old. He then pursued studies in nuclear engineering. Steve worked for Miles Laboratories as an electrical engineer in 1973 after receiving his degree. Steve joined the technical team at Philips in 1977 and helped create the technology that would eventually become CDs.
