Gordon and Eve Freer established their first office on Leicester's High Street in 1937, more than eighty years before Measom Freer & Co was officially established. They relocated to Regent Street in Leicester in the 1940s, where they worked on the initial pressing and forming of plastics. Measom Freer & Co., having relocated once more to St. Margaret's Street, became one of the innovators in the processing of plastics via injection moulding by the late 1940s.
The majority of our business from our Leicester location was in buttons and trimmings for the fashion and garment industries. More room was needed as the company expanded, so in the 1950s all manufacturing was transferred to a cutting-edge factory on Saffron Lane.
